Chapter 1: The Unparalleled King
"Ready, set... ACTION!"
Silence filled the whole room and then afterwards, the actors infront starts playing. The woman's face immediately turned into pity. Her forehead crease a little while her eyes shouts like she's begging. Then the corner of her eyes reddened and after a few seconds, tears starts to fall down on her eyes.
She looks like she's really in pain as she stared at the man infront of her. At this point, the film staffs and other people instantly want to clap their hands because of her sudden change of emotions. She looks so beautiful while acting that made everyone awed.
She's really the best actress in the century. That's everyone thought while watching her.
Everyone became her fan in that sight but not the man who's sitting in an elegant chair. His hand was resting on his chin while the other one is holding a little bell. His emotionless eyes stared at how the woman's emotion changes as what the script says. Her acting seems good but it didn't reach his standards. But even though it didn't reach his expectations, he silently gave her a chance and let her continue the acting.
Later on, they saw her hands slowly raise and her fingers grip the edge of the man's shirt. Her lips parted and say something using her quivering voice,
"P-Please don't leave—"
Her words suddenly cut when they heard a bell rings. Everyone went stiffened and they slowly look at where it came from. When their eyes finally went to the man, their faces turned white as papers and after that, there's only one thing that bothered them,
Why? What's wrong? That's what everyone thought but no one dared to say.
The man sitting on the chair stop ringing the bell and just glance at his assistant which the latter immediately understood.
His assistant nod and went to the director then whispered,
"Another take."
"W-What?" the director look at him in awed and confusion. "B-But her acting is already good enough—"
"But not on him." He cut off. The director sigh and look at the man but immediately regretted it. He look away and cleared her throat.
"CUT!" He shouted. "Another take!"
Almost everyone gasp in surprise at his announcement. They look so confuse why they should take another one. The scene earlier is so perfect on their eyes but when they remembered the man, they just shut their mouths off and didn't bother to say anything.
Meanwhile, the woman on the set feels a little bit of disappointment because she really put an effort but had no choice. They had to do what he says or everything that they've been through will be a waste.
The make up artist went to her and wipe her tears away while her co-artist and at the same time partner for the film took a deep breathe to relax himself. Well, she knows his feelings because she too, can't fully focus because of the menacing eyes that kept on staring at them earlier.
His cold eyes looks very intimidating as they always felt shiver down their spines that's why they can't focus. Who wants to have that kind of feeling? No one, really... except for her.
She always have feelings for him that's why she kepts on striving more to reach the top that could meet his standards. She always put too much effort to be perfect because she wants to have him. Although he looks really intimidating earlier, there's still a contented feeling on her heart and that's because her love is watching her. It motivates her to do more and more. She wants him, all of him.
And she's willing to do anything.
After minutes of preparing again, they was about to take another shot but they stop when he suddenly stood up from his seat. The man just look at the director and nod then without a goodbye, he strode his feet away from the place, leaving them behind.
"Please keep going!" the assistant said to them and run to the man but then, when they're already infront of his car, when his assistant open the back seat door, he look at him and coldly said,
"Stay here and watch the taping. Report it to me tomorrow morning."
"Y-Yes, President." His assistant said while still catching his breathe. He close the door and went to the driver's seat. Then he immediately maneuver the car away from the seat.
Meanwhile, the assistant just stared at his master's car away from him when he felt someone stood on his side.
"Ms. Ahn? What are you doing here?" He was surprise to see the actress.
The woman look at the highway and asks, "Where's he?"
"He?"
"The President."
"Oh. He already left."
Her forehead crease in confusion, "But you're still here?" Well, they knew that this assistant is always with the President and it was rare to see them part ways.
"He wants me to stay and observe then I'll report what will happened here tomorrow." He explained and he saw her beautiful face gloom a bit.
"Oh." She looks away, "Thanks." Her last words before going outside, leaving him.
He saw how her face looks very disappointment that made him shook his head. The woman is definitely beautiful but he knows that she has no chance on his master.
The President would never unwaver himself to anyone except for his grandfather. So even if she express too much effort, it'll just ended as a waste.
But, he believe that everyone in the world will meet their soulmates when the right time comes. He couldn't wait to see his master found its soulmate. So after silently wishing his master's fate, he went inside again.
And little did he knows, his wish will be granted very well soon.
