I first saw her at the grocery store opposite a fair sized house built of red lyons sandstone with the most god-awful-looking picket fence i'd ever seen.
I have seen quite a few good looking teenage girls but its rare that your eyes get intrigued enough in such a manner that its difficult for you to look away.....
She made me firmly believe in the possibility of perfection, in the possiblity of how good someone can look from a minusle distance. Her hair was ebony black and it plunged over her shoulders. she had melon-red lips, a dark complexion and a pair of slender eyebrows. Her light brown eyes were so unaviodable, her eyelashes were velvety, she had sea-nymph ears and a pointed nose and i fell in love.
It felt like time stood still and it was wrapped in bliss. I wanted nothing more than to be with her for the rest of my life. Before i could finish picking the few things i needed she left the store.
As i walked through the rowdy streets of my neighbourhood carrying a white plastic bag filled with the groceries i bought , i wondered where this beautiful damsel had been all this while. I wished i had the boldness to approach her, i wished she noticed me, i wished we were already married with three beautiful children. My mind was clouded with so many fantacies.
It felt like it was the universe telling me it was time to meet my soulmate, the girl of my dreams.
I walked quietly into the house i lived in with my mum and gently layed down .
In a short while my best friend peter walked into my room like a ghost, every one was used to his mischievious behaviours but i was still distracted with my thoughts when he gave me a heavy blow on my stomach.
'bro....what did you do that for'?...i shouted
'i keep telling you this ....you are a MAN,men dont sleep !
I mean, this is 1pm in the afternoon ! What the hell are you doing on your bed..' he replied with an irritated facial expression.
Peter was always hyperactive, fidgety, restless and easily bored. He loved sport...he was even part of our school's football club. He always had the best results in gym classes and he was every girl's favourite.
Yes!..i know..we were different from each other. I was his nerdish best friend who never passed gym classes. The only things i cared about were math homeworks and video games.
