Trisha let out an ear piercing scream as she saw the dog running towards her 

"How on mother earth will Jayden bring a dog home when he totally know that dogs freak me out". She said to herself and continued screaming until her stepmom Emilia came into the kitchen and stopped her.

"Are you out of your mind or have you sold out your brain Trisha?" She asked 

"I'm sorry mom". Trisha apologized immediately

Haven't I warned you not to ever call me mom,your foolish mom left you and went away,never to return,so do not call me your mom ever again, am I clear?" She asked 

"Yes ma". Trisha said while holding back the years that threatened to fall from her eyes because if they should fall, Emilia will continue taunting her.

"Are done with the dishes and lunch?" Emilia asked 

"Yes ma". She answered

"I'll be going to Evelyn's house make sure I do not come back before you". She said and left 

"Yes ma". She answered

Immediately her stepmom left, not minding the dog that was in the kitchen, she ran to her room, shut the door and allowed the tears she has been holding back to flow freely, still in tears she took a trip down the memory lane 

                    16 YEARS AGO 

"Mom someone is at the door". Five years old Trisha shouted 

A young woman in her late twenties and also Trisha's mom came out of the kitchen, went to the door and saw a young lady and her child.

"Good day young lady". Maryann greeted 

"I'm here to see Finn". The woman said 

"Okay, Finn.......Finn.... someone's here to see you". Maryann informed him 

 A young man in his early thirties and Trisha's dad descended from the staircase and headed to the door, immediately he saw the woman at the door he became very uncomfortable and he started sweating profusely.

"Tell her or I will". The woman said 

"Tell me what do not make me confused". Maryann said almost in confusion

"I'm Emilia and this is my Jayden, Finn's son, we met a month before your wedding and I later got pregnant for him, he made me his baby mama which I never liked because my son is always over me asking about his dad and I always told him to wait, so today I got tired of telling him to wait and here we are, newsflash, we're staying". She said and made her way into the house.

"Is she lying?" Maryann said 

"I have an explanation for this". Finn said in a pleading tone and tried to touch her 

"Do not touch me". She said and continued " so you really had an affair while we were engaged and planning for our wedding and that affair produced a son and you never told me about it". She said in tears

Finn tried to come close to her but she went to their room and continued crying while packing her things, Trisha heard everything they said but didn't understand instead she stared at her dad who stood in the sitting room regretting his mistake, he heaved a sigh and went to meet Maryann upstairs.

Maryann was still in tears when Finn entered the room and started apologizing immediately, but it was to late because Maryann had finished packing her bags, Finn begged her to stay but she refused because she couldn't phantom the thought of another woman sharing her husband, before she left, she gave Trisha her favourite necklace and a peck, then she left.

Trisha sighed heavily after snapping back to reality and cleaned the tears flowing freely from her eyes and went to freshen up, she went to the sitting room only to find Lilian, her best friend, waiting while watching a movie,she was shocked because she told Lilian she'll call her when she was done.

"I called you but you weren't answering, you took a lot of time and I decided to come here". Lilian said 

"Oh, I'm sorry". She apologized 

"Maybe it was when I was thinking about my mom". She said to herself
