Chapter 2: Tints of Jokes

“Come on, babe. I will surely not miss your graduation day. So, cheer up!” Martha cheered.

Zeus knitted his brows while staring at her girlfriend’s reaction. He sighed and nodded. Martha needs to go to London because of her course. As a future fashion designer, she needs to broaden her knowledge and the Glam program will help her in the future. And this means they need to endure long-distance relationships.

“Besides, you got money. You can visit me when you are free,” Martha added as she clings her arms to Zeus’ nape. “So, smile, baby.”

Zeus and Martha are in a relationship since high school. They’ve been into an on-and-off relationship. Zeus admits that he’s not perfect, he’s not an easy guy to deal with. And sometimes, Martha couldn’t hold it. But in the end, they found themselves going back to each other.

“I will see if I have time. You know dad wants me to handle the company.”

Martha pouted her lips. She knew that Zeus is the future heir of the Carters but also it might affect their relationship. She sighed. “I understand.” She will do her best to understand him.

As Zeus is in his last year as a Business Administration student at Wake Forest University, a prestigious university in New York, he obliges to start his practice to handle their business.

“Dude!” It was Andrew, one of Zeus’ best pals. “Come on. Martha needs to check in,” he reminded.

Martha smiled as she moved her head to the side and glanced at Andrew. After that, she returned her gaze to Zeus. “So, baby, let me go.”

Zeus sighed once again. He admits, he’s not used to being away with Martha but this is how life works. It’s not that they need to be together always. “Fine. Take care of yourself for me.” Finally, he surrendered.

Martha pressed her lips into him and it lasted for a couple of seconds before they let go of each other. “I will. I promise,” Martha replied with a smile on her angelic face.

Zeus then let go of her and waved goodbye when Martha left.

Andrew, who was standing in the distance walked toward Zeus. “Let’s go, dude. I’m sure you had a quality time last night, right?” he asked, more of a tease.

Zeus glanced at him. “Shut up, Drew.”

Andrew let out a soft chuckle as he placed his left arm on Zeus’ shoulder. “Chill. Anyway, we put your name on the list.”

Zeus frowned. “Pardon?”

“You, Philip, Carl, and I, will attend the Summer Camp for the last time,” Andrew replied with a grin.

“Holy Molly! Indeed, WFU is wonderful!” Isla exclaimed soon as they got down on the shuttle.

Lily on her side just rolled her eyes. “Childish,” she whispered but Isla heard it clearly, making her smirk and turned to look at her.

“Come on, Lily. I already held d!cks. And you?”

Lily’s eyes widened in bafflement. “What the fvck, Isla? Watch your words!” she hissed.

Isla snaked her arm into Lily’s as she walked faster. “Come on, v!rgin. Don’t be too innocent. If you want to, we can spot a guy and you can practice your first kiss—Ouch!” Isla uttered and let go of Lily when the latter pinched her on the side. “Damn it. It hurts, huh!” Isla said with a grimace.

“Serves you right, lady pervert,” Lily responded and walked past her.

Isla shook her head and equaled her friend’s pace. “They said a shaft entering our core is way painful the first time. Way painful than your pinch. But of course, it’s more enjoyable—”

“For once, Isla. Just this time. Let us first reach our destination. Can’t you see?” Lily looked around and arched her brow when she turned to Isla. “People are looking at us. Have manners—”

“Whatever, let’s go and hunt hunks!” Isla asserted, making Lily shake her head.

Isla keeps herself busy eyeing and grading those men around. WFU is known for sports. They excel in every game, especially basketball. Before entering the Summer Camp and the university, she already did some research about WFU basketball varsity. And her eyes kept on their team captain which is Zeus Carter.

She heard about the Carters before from her mom, since her mom has also a business, together with her stepfather. But never see the guy in person. And he got no pictures also from the internet. She couldn’t help but feel a challenge and curiosity is her favorite feeling. She’s curious about what the WFU basketball captain looks like.

“What exactly are the activities for today’s event?” she asked Lily.

Lily looked at her. “Activities will start tomorrow. Orientation will be held today. Also, we need to check the dorm, where we will be staying,” she informed.

Isla nodded her head as they still walk towards the wide gymnasium of WFU.

“And please, Isla. Don’t start making out today. I know Nate is here but—”

“Don’t worry. We’re done.”

Lily frowned. “How about Aaron?”

Isla smirked. “Of course, not. He’s too lusty. You know he wants me to give him a bl0w j0b?”

Good thing Lily wasn’t eating nor drinking, if so, she might choke herself to death. Still, she couldn’t help but to cursed.

Isla let out a soft chuckle. “Hurry up, they’re all heading to the gym,” she said.
